Three little ladies, Corky's, and Graceland. Safe to say that someone didn't drive back to Dallas today.
"Aunt T. Um, what time are you going to get up?" Five minutes girls, five minutes. Twenty minutes later, "Aunt T? Has it been five minutes? I think it's been five minutes." Oh it was a tough morning, but I finally woke up and immersed myself in all of the presents that the girls received from Santa, friends, and family. Finally! The girls opened up boxes, added batteries, and tested out all their new toys. And then after my quick shower Eva says, "Let's go to dinner tonight. You want to stay?" I think, no words. Eva continues, "What about lunch? Wine? Corky's?"
Corky's....did I hear Corky's? Okay, sure I'll stay. And that's all that it took to plan a great day hanging with Eva and a couple Memphis perks. My voice is still at a loss, but my appetite isn't. Ribs, BBQ pork, fries, salad, rolls. Thank goodness for Graceland and lots of walking to alleviate any possible food coma. Nothing like enjoying the moment and creating more Martinez style memories.
If there is a downside, it's that 'Ole Faithful has to hit the road by 6 a.m. Stop laughing, I know. My guess is that there will be three little alarms offering their smiles and cheers to help me forget time. Seven hours await, but it won't be without thought and reflection on the past eight days. Indeed I have been blessed with a beautiful Christmas and family celebration. Thank you, thank you!
This place was jammed packed! Ms. Ann made our lunch a true dining adventure.
Hanging with Eva. Outside the Graceland ticket office, shops and museums.
Outside Elvis' home. Graceland Mansion. The place was all decked out for Christmas. Funny to think this was my first time visiting. Loved it! See more pictures at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Elumandme/161699900528443

You are so right, Sue. It does feel like home. I left wanting more and felt like I could just slip into that world. Have fun with your trip back.
